Sometimes, things happen that you don't expect, don't look for and never see coming...but when it does it's so exciting. I don't know what the future holds, but I can't wait to find out.

I used to love Xanga, but I also feel like the community isn't quite gelling the way it used to. I used to have a lot of readers, but my blog never survived the name change from HyperRex to Comet Hyakutake. I suppose you could see it coming for some time though - my recent posts here have been token at best, and not much worth reading - I knew my domain was coming. Plus maybe it's just me or something, but it seems a bit young around here. So...I decided to get a domain name and take the plunge. Is it scary? Yeah, because I won't have a built-in Xanga audience. On the other hand, people who take the time to set their own blogs up tend to write more often and maintain them better. It's time, I think, that I go out in the world and see who reads me. This isn't goodbye though. I'll still post here from time-to-time, and I'll certainly be here to read people's blogs - but I'm going to let my premium membership expire. I'll be on the burning road.
